Seniors gathered at Clark at 7:00 AM and boarded their assigned buses. The group arrived at Disneyland at around 8:30 AM, and loaded the Toy Story buses to the park entrance. Prior to the trip, senior class advisor, Mrs. Ohanian, sent out many Student Square messages to students to ensure that they are prepared for this trip.
After entering the park, the students and chaperones got together and took a group picture in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle, which is a yearly tradition.
Throughout the day, seniors got a chance to go on rides with friends and even some of their teachers. “Our group went on Space Mountain with Mr. Ghavam, and we talked about our journey from freshman to senior year while waiting in the lines,” senior Melanie Babakhanian said. “Going to Disneyland with our teachers made the experience even more meaningful. It gave us the chance to connect outside of school and share moments we’ll remember long after graduation,” Babakhanian said.
One of the rides that caused the most buzz among the students was Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. After its recent redesign from Splash Mountain, students were eager to see the changes. “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was probably one of the most exciting rides at Disney. I decided to sit in the front seat, and by the end of the ride, I was soaked. It was freezing after, but definitely worth it,” senior Nelli Torosyan said.
Surprisingly, the park seemed to be emptier than usual which could have been because of post-Halloween. Due to this, lines went by quicker and students got to repeat rides multiple times.
Later in the day, LA Dodgers fans were able to watch the Dodgers win their ninth World Series Championship. Throughout the park, fans were dressed in Dodgers jerseys and as the game was in progress, groups were screaming and cheering. “If I didn’t have a way of watching the game at Disneyland, I would’ve stayed home. The game was an emotional roller coaster, and one of the best game seven’s in World Series history. It was a blessing to be able to watch my hometown cement their dynasty with back to back World Series Championships, especially surrounded by my best friends at Disneyland,” senior Daniel Cano said.
At 9:00 PM, students got to see Disney’s “Paint the Night” parade return in honor of the Disneyland Resort 70th Anniversary Celebration. The parade lit the dark with the characters, dancers, and floats decorated with over one million LED lights.
After the parade and fireworks show, seniors gathered outside the park for a final headcount, followed by leaving the park. Although many students were exhausted, some students were running to the buses to beat the crowd and sit in the back of the bus.
