The Senior Prom is an event where students have the opportunity to make memories and capture photos with friends. Students at Clark have worked tirelessly to graduate and accomplish their academic goals, while also building relationships with their peers. Prom is an event where students can relax, have fun, and dance the night away.
Since freshman year, the students of the class of 2026 have worked hard to raise money for their Senior Prom. “It was stressful making sure everything went as planned, but I’m glad it turned out to be a fun and memorable event for everyone,” senior Alina Akverdyan said. The Senior Class President Shawheen Balouch was responsible for overseeing all of the planning that went into prom. “I was really proud of all the hard work the seniors in ASB put into this event,” senior Balouch said.
Anticipation of the event was hectic for seniors in and out of the classroom. While seniors in ASB were in charge of selecting dessert and photo booth vendors, students outside of ASB were debating where to buy the perfect prom outfit and selecting a place to get their hair and makeup done.
The date of Prom, Friday, May 22, finally arrived and the majority of students decided to get dolled up early in the day to have a chance to take photos and spend time with friends. The afternoon was mostly devoted to hair, nail, or makeup appointments, followed by group photos at Brand Park. “Prom was really fun, but I think a lot of students wanted a more open space to take their photos, which is why they wanted to go to Brand,” senior Armen Agadzhanyan said.
Despite the smaller venue, students were ready to celebrate. Once the sun started to set, the Arabian Nights-themed prom finally began! Students gracefully entered and gathered with their friends to see the candle party favors and appetizers positioned at each table setting.
After everyone had the chance to sit and mingle, DJ Jilber invited everyone onto the dance floor. Students were dancing their hearts out, reveling in one of their last Clark events. An occasional break from dancing saw students enjoying the photo booth, having a sweet treat from the Jr. Churros vendor or lounging in the venue’s outdoor area.
Overall, Prom gave students a chance to unwind, have fun, and spend time with friends!
