On Tuesday afternoon, students crowded around the club tables, rushing to be the first to sign up for their favorite clubs along with their friends and getting to meet the club representatives.

From September 26 to September 28, Clark students went down to the amphitheater during lunch to stroll around the colorful posters and walk by tables with club representatives calling them out to join. With two rows of tables, students could walk past each table and make their way to glance at what is offered. With a grand total of fifty-nine unique clubs, students were hopefully able to get familiarized with all the interest groups available on campus that they can be a part of.

Some clubs, like Kpop Club, have a long legacy of being a club here at Clark. “My older sister was actually the one who started Kpop Club in 2017,” senior Kpop Club president Reia Galang said. “So it went down through the generations. She started it with her friends and it went on through the years, and now I’m the president.”

As students walked around exploring the different club options, senior Hailey Wong, ASB’s Director of Clubs, looked over all the clubs to make sure everything was going smoothly and offered support for anyone with questions or concerns.

“To me, the best part of Club Rush was seeing everyone so passionate about advertising their clubs and all the people who were so excited to join them. I felt that the entire event had done a good job of showcasing each club’s strengths and appeals to the student population,” Wong said.

Wong recommends that each student explores every single  club and thinks students should really put themselves out there to try something new.

Club rush is just the start. Students: if you didn’t have a chance to sign up, stop by ASB or your counselors office to find out how you can get involved on campus, and make new friends with similar or varying interests as you. Take this year to try clubs out and see if you can potentially start lead a club in future years to leave a mark, your own legacy on Clark Magnet High School.
