Students talking to college representatives about education and admission procedures. The College Fair helped students get familiar with their goals and future career paths.

The hallways are now decorated with giant posters informing students about the College and Career Fair, sponsored by the Glendale Unified School District. This fair will take place Oct. 22 at the Glendale Civic Auditorium from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Admission is free, and all students from all grades are welcome.

More than a 100 colleges and universities will be present at the fair, according to head counselor Karine Turdjian. Financial aid seminars will also be provided for students and their parents. This event is a great opportunity for students to widen their horizons and to meet with representatives in order to discuss programs, services and admissions procedures, Turdjian said.

“I encourage all students to go to the College Fair and to talk to the different representatives coming from not only colleges and universities, but also from vocational schools,” Tudjian said.. “It’s never too early to look at colleges.”

Junior Alex Shabanian attended the College Fair last year when he was a sophomore. “I think that attending this event helped me decide which colleges I would want to apply for in the future,” Shabanian said. “I definitely want to go again this year.”
