There’s a new electro, alternative band in Los Angeles and its name is Parade of Lights. They have been making music under that title since 2011 and have been on tour in Nevada, Utah and California until recently.

The band’s music is characterized as being alternative. However, after listening to the EP titled Golden I find it very difficult to even categorize them as any of the genres that are in use today. The band truly has a unique sound that can and will appeal to the current trends in the indie music world.

The first track on the EP if bustling with reverbs of electro and synth as pop backtracks fill the listener’s ears. It really is a great opener and sets the mood for the rest of the song on the EP.

One of the more popular singles off the album is called “We’re the Kids,” one of those songs that would blast in the summer, as the lyrics tell the joys and carefreeness of youth. The song “Burn” features a slower tempo and is nearly anthemic in that way; it perfectly combines lyrics like “We’ll take on the world tonight!” with a more relaxing backtrack.

The EP Golden by Parade of Lights is one that is definitely worth the listen. Its flawless combination of instruments and electronic elements make it one that hungers the listener for a full length album.
