Katy Perry “Roar”
Katy Perry kicks off her album launch, Prism, available in stores on October 22, with her hit-single “Roar.” The song includes a dance-to-beat with bright, uplifting vocals that make you want to sing-along. Perry projects an excellent feel of power through her high notes, as she fully impersonates the characteristics of a tiger.
Although the song contains the same style of music, the music video represents a significant image change from her other successful songs. Perry incorporates a clean, funny and creative music video story to “Roar,” unlike her seductive approach on “California Girls” and “I Kissed a Girl”‘s.
The music video has a South Pacific tropical setting and includes “dorky-like” acting such as funny faces and overly exaggerated emotions. The whole song explains in one powerful scene, the tiger roar-off, despite the lyrics stating, “You’re gonna hear me roar, louder, louder than a lion.”
The song and the music video overall, is brilliant. A “let-loose” music video corresponding with the lyrics of “Roar” is a great way to introduce Katy Perry’s new album, Prism.
