Mrs. Hilmar-Braga makes a highly anticipated return to Clark
Spanish teacher Lauren Hilmar-Braga returned to Clark on March 1 after being on maternity leave from the beginning of the school year due to the birth of her second boy.
“It was amazing to be with my children, but I wouldn’t use the the word “vacation” when you have an infant and toddler at home,” Hilmar-Braga said. “I’m excited to be back, though, it feels like I’ve only been gone for a long weekend.”
Her absence was felt through the entire student body, from former students to current. “Mrs. Braga is literally one of my favorite teachers ever,” said junior Raisa Faisal. “She is very knowledgeable about Spanish, and it is evident she is passionate about what she does.”
With just about three months of school left, Hilmar-Braga will be preparing her students for the final quarter and for their final exam. “When you’ve been doing this for so long, it’s seamless for me; it’s time to get my head out of baby land,” Hilmar-Braga said.
“I am very glad Mrs. Braga is back because her students are very fortunate to learn from her, even it is just for a few months,” Faisal said.
