The students veer into their own conversations but suddenly stop as Matt Stroup begins to ease into the instructions for the new class project. The project is still at the beginning stages as the Cinematography students gather to share their new ideas. The project itself is a sitcom based on a superhero named So-So man who struggles to become a hero with half the powers of a regular hero. This class has taken a turn in a new direction with this class project rather than short individual films. “This project will be very interesting and fun, we will get to use our imaginations” said junior Axel Dominguez. This sitcom will be a combination of Friends, Seinfeld and High School Musical . “This project will be like real production” said cinematography teacher Matt Stroup and “we are expected to know everything from 1-2 thoroughly” Dominguez said. “This project is supposed to be a difficult and advanced for us, but I think we can handle it” said junior John Canlas. “I have faith in my students, we have a very capable and determined group” said Cinematography teacher Stroup. The jobs for this project range from producers and directors to actors and designers. Primarily Benjamin Caryan and Lily Mkhitarian, students from the creative writing class, will write the Story itself. There will also be an audition for the acting positions, where actors will practice with the character synopsis and get in into the character. Although there is no designated executive producer, Caryan is thought to be among the choices and as for director its will most likely be Michael Aloyan. This project will have a job for everyone based on their abilities. “I want to do the editing because I am not good with camera” said Dominguez. “This first episode will be the most difficult because it will establish the characters and situation” said Stroup. It will involve a production schedule that will be broadcasted from script to screen. It will be almost identical to a real production from conception to development and each episode will be connected to the previous one just like a season long show. The sitcom will use HD cameras and on occasions the green room to develop a common setting among the students. The class will start production in two weeks and the first episode is anticipated to be finished by January. Then the rest of the series will continue monthly, and will be aired on channel 15.
