For over forty years, the Montrose Harvest Market has been a place where visitors can buy fresh produce, baked goods, artisanal crafts, flowers, and much more. Every Sunday, new and old faces start their morning right by soaking in the positive energy radiated by the vendors. This summer, in July 2025, a new vendor was introduced to the weekly lineup, leaving matcha lovers in excitement. Matcha Lane, a Los Angeles-based matcha cart, has become an exciting addition for visitors to enjoy.
This cart owned by Trina Edgarian and Marleen Agakanian brings aesthetics, simplicity, and great-tasting drinks that stand out from a regular Starbucks matcha. By using authentic ingredients, they ensure each drink tastes rich and full of flavor. Ranging from simple to more complex drinks, Matcha Lane always leaves customers satisfied with their experience.
Approximately 80-100 visitors stop by each week to get their matcha fix. A Montrose resident gets their Matcha Einspanner, which is a regular matcha latte, with an additional layer of sweet whipped cream. When craving matcha, most people want something that is genuine and has an influx of various flavors, not a stronger milk profile.
“I couldn’t decide between the Double Matcha Latte and the Banana Cream Pie Matcha. I enjoyed the double matcha more because the banana cream didn’t seem all that different from a regular matcha latte. Even though it’s a little bit on the expensive side, I loved the stand and would recommend it to friends and family,” senior Alina Semerjyan said.

When approaching the booth, customers come across a beautiful arrangement of flowers, a clean workspace, and smiles from each employee. The color combination of blue and white used in their logo adds to the relaxing ambiance while drinking a good matcha.
Like all vendors who wish to have a booth in the Sunday market, the owners of Matcha Lane experienced the lengthy process, as explained by co-owner Trina Edgarian. “Getting the permits was a bit of a process, but it was all worth it once we started hearing such great feedback from clients. Applying for this was truly a good decision in growing our business, because now we have people wishing we had a storefront,” Edgarian said.
After a few months of being at the market, their most popular drinks quickly became the Banana Cream Pie Matcha Latte and the Strawberry Matcha Latte. Varying from $7.50 to $8, Matcha Lane customizes each drink to their customers’ preferences. Whether it’s the type of milk or sweetener used, they know how to appeal to the diverse audience the harvest market attracts. Matcha Lane has become a unique part of the Montrose Harvest Market.
