Poquito Más is not enough

Poquito Más is not the most glamorous looking eatery in Burbank, but it has a warm atmosphere with glass windows surrounding the restaurant. When you first walk in, you see the counter located at the front of the restaurant. After ordering at the counter, you seat yourself at the checkered tile tables and green plastic chairs and wait for your order number to be called.

Even though this is a self-seating restaurant, its employees always tend to their customers. They are kind and will make sure you are satisfied. The tables are occasionally dirty, but an employee will wipe them down upon your request.

Each time I visit Poquito Más, the food is consistently fresh and delicious. You can opt for a more healthy option such as a tostada, or treat yourself to an overload of beans, cheese and sour cream topped onto tortilla chips. If you’re in the mood for some protein, have a chicken, steak or shrimp tazón. If you’d like to add some more flavor to your food, you can pick from different types of salsas for your chicken burrito, or add a kick to your shrimp taco with some peppers that are located at the opposite end of the entrance.

I burn my tongue almost every time when eating my favorite item on Poquito Más’ menu, their burrito. The tortilla is always soft with brown crispy edges. Wrapped in the warm tortilla are steaming refried beans and gooey cheese. As for the meat, the chicken is never gamey and the steak always tasty. Once my burrito has only left its cheesy beans behind, I like to scoop up the extras with some not-so-salty tortilla chips.

The best part about Poquito Más is that the food is prepared very quickly. After taking your seat, the wait is never longer than about ten minutes. Not only is the food prepared fast, but it is of great quality as well. Poquito Más is probably one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever eaten at.
