One of the most popular eating spots located on Brand Blvd. would have to be Hot Wings Cafe. Since 1986, the cafe has gathered lots of customers and due to the rising popularity of the cafe, the owner decided to open more locations in Melrose, Sherman Oaks, Valencia and Pasadena.

Looking at the outside exterior of Hot Wings Cafe, you get a sense of it being very dull and old. However, the moment you put a step through that door you already feel like home.

There is a Chicago diner vibe at this location, with lots of action going around —people moving, talking, laughing. It’s hectic, but in a very enjoyable way.

Many love Hot Wings Cafe, and you can tell because whenever you come to the cafe it will always be packed with diners of all ages — from children as young as four years old, or even younger, to the elderly.

They are known for making their own ranch dressing. It is a secret recipe and nearly everyone wants to know what’s in it; however, since it’s a secret no one is allowed to tell. (I don’t even think that the waitresses know; probably only the cook and the owner of the cafe know the ingredients.) They sell their ranch in big containers, with a choice of plain ranch or blue cheese ranch.

From soups and salads to sandwiches to hot wings, the menu is varied. Obviously, if you go to Hot Wings Cafe you are going to get hot wings. They come in a big portion, which was great when I was there, because I was not alone. I went with my friends and we all ordered hot wings and curly fries.

The decoration of celery and carrots placed perfectly on the hot wings platter gives the food a sophisticated vibe. They also give out moist towelettes in secure sealed covers for customers to wipe their fingers.

I would give this cafe two thumbs up, and I will surely visit again.
