The Age of Adaline is a PG-13 American romance fantasy film directed by Lee Toland Krieger. The film stars Blake Lively as Adaline Bowman, Harrison Ford as William Jones, Michiel Huisman as Ellis Jones, Kathy Baker as Kathy Jones, and Ellen Burstyn as Flemming

This movie is like any love story, but in a loveable way with features of multiple flashbacks, and it is a really heart-felt story.

Lively transforms the role as she grabs the audience with her classy and well-done performance. Director Lee Toland Krieger captivates Adaline beautifully, classically and gracefully. Lively plays Adaline Browman, a young woman who never ages and stays 29 due to her death during a car accident, where a lightning-bolt strikes her leaving her immortal. She loses her husband whom she meets at the Golden Gate Bridge. Although the plot is not realistic, there is a lot to enjoy in this film.

Burstyn plays Adaline’s daughter and Lively does an exceptional job of playing Adaline as she watch her daughter, Flemming age, filling the viewer with sadness of the undeniable love of a mother and daughter.

The movie is mainly centered around the relationship of Adaline and Michiel Huisman as Ellis Jones, which complicates her difficult life. She is drawn to him for being undoubtedly handsome and wealthy. Ellis knows Adaline as Jenny for she was targeted by the FBI at one point for testing and managed to escape. She changes her identity every ten years and Flemming knows the truth. Adaline conveniently never shows up in photographs.

Ford plays the role William Jones by speaking with low tones and bursts of anger, which makes his role very convincing.

Although the movie has many complications, it is really bitter-sweet in a good way. Although some may see this as a cheesy Nicholas Sparks film, I found myself enjoying the film and staying engaged and entertained throughout the entirety of the movie.
