(May 3, 2013) — Girls are always giving their girlfriends advice on boys and relationships. Although it’s nice to help them out, one girl’s advice isn’t always enough. The smartphone app Lulu allows girls to easily transfer their advice on guys. Lulu is a social networking application that allows girls to read and write reviews on guys. It allows girls to access so much information about what guys that they know are like. When you write a review on a guy, the only information that you give about yourself is your relationship to the guy you are rating. This little feature is a really helpful in the review process. I love being able to know whether the review I’m reading is from a “hook-up,” a “crush” or a “friend.” To a girl the app is probably really fun and interesting, but to a guy he would probably see this as a form of bullying. I guess you could say that it is, but the app does not intend to be a host for trash-talking. Girls rate guys based on their opinion of the guy and other girls who read the rating are aware of this. Honestly, if the guy is a jerk and a girl posts a really bad rating, he deserves it. Lulu is just a way for girls to communicate. It creates a platform for girls to easily give advice to other girls about guys. Whether or not there is an app, girls will still talk about them. It’s a really addicting app. I couldn’t stop going through the list of guy ratings and what people described them to be like. The company, Luluvise Inc., says that their member count on Lulu is rising and the app is becoming more and more popular. According to TechCrunch 50% of new users visit the app spend 45 minutes each time they visit the app on an average of about eight times a week. My favorite part is probably the way the app is setup to describe guys by hashtags. Some are the usual description like #GreatListener and #EpicSmile but there are some really funny but helpful ones like #ManChild and #WillSeeRomComs. This app offers so many useful benefits. Let’s say a guy that you have been crushing on for a while messages you. You’re probably feeling like the whole world has stopped and you’re dreams are just about to come true. You take the opportunity that has basically been handed to you. It’s not too long till you realize that this guy is just some player that was using you as a rebound. If you had Lulu, then you probably would have found out he was rated 3.0 in the “commitment” category and described as having a #WanderingEye. On top of that he #StillLovesHisEx according to one of his hook-ups from a week ago. The app requires a Facebook log-in to gain access to your friend list. Although the app is connected to your Facebook, Lulu never posts on your Facebook wall. This feature allows girls to freely and anonymously rate guys. If you’re ever wondering if that boy in your 3rd period is truly a gentleman or just a #Mama’sBoy sort of guy, just download this free app and you’ll be able to find out with just a simple swipe of your thumb.
