(November 15, 2012) — A new pop singer has arrived in our sight. Her name is Jayme Dee, and her hit song “Tip Toes” has hit the hearts of many girls and their desire to dance either privately in their closed room with no one watching, or out in the open. At first, her song “Tip Toes” feels a bit “mainstream,” but then, after a few times of hearing it, it becomes very enjoyable. It has a nice beat with cute lyrics that would make any girl start daydreaming about their perfect guy in the middle of class. When I first saw her video I knew she looked familiar and realized that I have seen her before. When I searched her name on Youtube, I saw a video of her covering Maroon 5’s song “Sunday Morning” that I had seen over a year ago. Now that video has over two million views. I remember how I admired the way she strummed the guitar while singing with her velvet voice. Surprisingly, her music video for “Tip Toes” has only has 317,507 hits and all of her covers have over 500,000 views. Her other covers include “Pumped Up Kicks,” by Foster The People, “We Found Love,” by Rihanna, “Toxic,” by Britney Spears and “Fix You,” by Coldplay. The way Dee’s sound is and the way she carries herself in the music video reminds me of Taylor Swift and Colbie Caillat. Dee’s lyrics have Swift’s innocence but her voice has Caillat’s edginess. If she plays her cards right and make good music decisions, she could be recognized more as a musician and less as a coverist. She could be that something that the music industry needs, which is, a pure voice with legitimate talent.
