(November 15, 2012) Bakery #1 Berolina Bakery 3421 Ocean View Blvd Glendale, CA 91208 Neighborhood: Glendale (818) 249-6506 http://www.berolinabakery.com/ Located on Ocean View, Berolina Bakery & Pastry Shop offers all the regular dry pastries, but also sells different artisan breads, such as Kalamata Olive. I recommend the bakery to princess cake fanatics, because they are well known for them. There is seating in the front, and when you walk in, the counter is right ahead, and the breads are on display on the back right. The outside is friendly for pets and families looking for a quick meal during breakfast or for a coffee break. Bakery #2 Pacific Cheesecake Company 413 S. Brand Blvd Glendale, CA 91204 Neighborhood: Glendale (310) 427-1595 http://pacificcheesecakecompany.com Unlike the usual bakeries in Glendale, the Pacific Cheesecake Company specializes in mini cheesecakes in a variety of flavors, such as red velvet and lemon raspberry. Each mini cake also is about two to three dollars, so they are pretty reasonably priced. My favorite cheesecake by far is the vanilla cheesecake with cream cheese frosting. All the cakes in the store are well-balanced; the frosting and actual cake do not overwhelm one another. The only inconvenience is the location, which is on South Brand by the Hyundai dealership. Bakery #3 Paris Baguette 818 N. Pacific Ave Glendale, CA 91202 Neighborhood: Glendale (818) 551-0084 http://www.parisbaguetteusa.com/ Paris Baguette’s name is a bit confusing, considering that it serves pastries with an Asian influence. However, the smell and look of the bakery draws a customer in to spend more. The whole bakery is self-serve, so it’s not best to go on an empty stomach. However, one thing that is unique in the bakery is that everything is sweet. Even the pastries and sandwiches that are meant to be eaten as a meal have sweet bread. So, if sugar is something you enjoy, this is definitely the place for you.
