(September 19, 2012) — After nine years, NCIS is heading into its last season. The show has been running since 2003, with season ten ending in 2013. NCIS takes place in Washington, D.C. and is about a group of agents working at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). Together, these agents work to solve murders involving Marine and Navy personnel and their families. Almost every episode of NCIS has had the same plot. Someone relating to the Navy or Marines is found dead and the team solves the murder. Of course, each episode has its own story and has different roadblocks for the team to face but underlying that is more of the same. Despite the repetitive feeling of the show, viewers watch it for the characters. The cast works so well together that they bring energy and life to what could possibly be a dull, typical, murder-mystery television show. Each character has his or her own personality that you come to really like. Whether it be Abby’s fun and energetic personality or DiNozzo’s constant movie quoting, it is characters like this that really make the show. NCIS fans are really going to be sad when the series finally ends. The final episode of season nine ended with a bang, literally! With a cliffhanger ending, the last episode of season nine leaves viewers wondering if the characters are okay or even alive. Viewers will have to wait until the season premiere to see what happens and I am certain that NCIS fans will be looking forward to one last season of their favorite show.
