(April 1, 2011) — With the queen of hearts balloons flying up high, black and white balloons flying down low and glitter in the air, the entire auditeria transformed into a Monte Carlo-themed night on March 19, as the junior class held their Spring Formal. This year, the class of 2012 choose the theme of their dance to be Monte Carlo. They were inspired by poker chips, slot machines, the smell of money in the air and people dressed up as dapper as possible. The hard work of the class paid off as 209 Clarkies flooded the auditeria, danced, laughed, played and partied the night away. Sophomore Edwin Tahmassian said, “I went to the dance with a couple of my friends thinking it would be an ordinary one, but it turned out pretty good.” Tahmassian continued to say that he was glad the dance was not canceled like last year. As the music played and the students swayed, a best dressed contest was held. The students that won the competition and got multiple prizes were Tadeh Gharib and Nare Nazaryan. Gharib wore his gray Monte Carlo styled suit, while Nazaryan wore a golden dress.
