(April 1, 1999) — When the Junior wrestling Federation/ Physical Fitness club was first formed last month, many students didn’t sign up for the club because they thought it was only for wrestling fans. People got the wrong idea of the JWF/ Physical Fitness Club from the start. They thought that it was only about wrestling. JWF/ Physical Fitness Club is a place for men and women alike. No one is refused from this club. JWF/ Physical Fitness Club is a great club for Clark students because it gives students the opportunity to do community service and also to raise money for scholarships, according to club members. Artin Aghakhani, club president, and vice president Sevada Avanessian and their staff have planned many events, goals and field trips for the JWF/ Physical Fitness Club. According to club members, the JWF/ Physical Fitness Club started off on the wrong foot because the meetings were not taken seriously. The leaders of the JWF/ Physical Fitness Club are committed in making a place that people can relax and have a good time, while at the same time, students stay fit, help their school, and help their community. Two teachers sponsored and supported the idea of JWF/ Physical Fitness Club because they believed that students deserved a club that was made for them and by them. These two teachers are Rebecca Angulo and Roger Donahoo. Ms. Angulo’s final comments were: “I’m happy to serve and help my students in whatever activities that they feel they would like to participate in as long as it doesn’t exclude people. Also hopefully the club serves more then just staying fit but making an investment in their community and in their lives. This club would only be a success if the cabinet makes it work and also the other committee that are a part of this team make it a success.” Activities Planed Fundraisers – Selling candy, slave day, pie-eating-contest, and Spirit Week Community Service – visiting hospitals, working at libraries, and cleaning up our school Physical Activities – Wrestling, dancing, and physical fitness
