(June 11, 1999) — For those of you who have been hanging out under a rock, Paul Oh is Clark’s first and presiding freshman class president. To truly show just how favorable he is with students, a ninth grader, Christine Kim when asked about Paul said, “He’s sociable, funny and nice.” Oh was born on April 25, 1984 in LA. Oh has attended Salem Lutheran Elementary School, Toll Middle School, and Hoover High School’s summer school. When he isn’t in school, Oh enjoys playing football, making drawings and playing the violin. He also teaches kids at church at a program called AWANA. Oh enjoys hanging out with a wide variety of people. When in the music spectrum he says he enjoys mostly everything, but his prime choices are rap and R&B. His favorite sports are football and basketball, and his favorite athlete is Dennis Rodman. When Oh first decided to come to Clark, he said he believed it would be a good experience. He said he wanted a better education than what he could get at Hoover. Next year, Oh plans to stay here at Clark and see if Clark will get any better. Last year when he decided to run for ninth grade class president, he wanted to become president for three reasons: he wondered how it would feel to take leadership, he thought that being the class president would be a good experience and he wanted to help out other kids. While at Clark, he is having a pretty good time. According to Oh, “It is crazy hard” for him to complete his homework and be able to participate in his extra-curricular activities, such as playing football at Hoover, and being our freshman class president. On a regular basis, while working as the ninth grade president, he suggests agenda items, plans for them and he sets up the items for the benefit of the school. Oh wants to make Clark a better school and to help the students be happy. Oh is planning on running for class president next year. Oh thinks that the person who influences him the most as president is our ASB president, Mike Keshishian. Oh says that this year he really didn’t have to make very hard decisions; he just went with the flow. If you want to get to know our freshman class president, Paul Oh, just ask him. Hang out with him. He says that he likes to hang out with a variety of people. So get out, there and get to know him.
