(May 31, 2001) — The GHS tennis doubles team consisting of Tony Topsakalyan and Jay Sim lost the championship 1-6, 1-6 to Arcadia’s team of the top two singles players after beating Arcadia’s doubles team 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 May 2. Topsakalyan’s and Sim’s undefeated 30-0 season record placed them in the premliminaries, where they beat Pasadena 6-0, 6-0 April 30, and after only ten minutes of rest, they beat Crescenta Valley 6-2, 6-3. “My partner Jay Sim and I had a thrilling doubles season this year, with a 30-0 league record. After losing in the finals to Arcadia, I was kind of disappointed, but I had enjoyed winning the other matches.”
