(June 10, 2001) — On May 20, 2000, students glowed as they elegantly entered an auditeria surrounded by glittery stars. Clark’s first ever junior prom was held in the auditeria, unlike most schools. But the atmosphere in the room changed as students danced dreamily. The auditeria was appropriately decorated with stars, baby blue and white balloons, and lacey sash hung on the ceiling. “The decorations were really pretty and set a romantic mood,” commented senior Kelli Askew, “but they kept falling off the walls.” With music blasting the walls of the auditeria, students make their way onto the dance floor to dance the night away. Simple touches added elegance to the night. Tables put together in front of the entrance covered with a white tablecloth were laid out with delicious appetizers and entrees. Senior Armen Aghaeian said, “If anything, I enjoyed indulging the food that night.” Although there was a small attendance, the night carried on with endless dancing. And some couples carried on conversations over the loud music sitting along the wall. “It wasn’t one of the most upbeat dances I’ve been to, but it was somewhat interesting,” said Matt Hecht. Everyone had different memories for that night. Aghaeian humorously reminisced, “It was a good thing there was air conditioning…there was no excessive body odor.” With the announcement of Clark’s junior prom queen senior Anahit Trdatyan and prom king senior Ryan Bombane, the night was complete. “It was a really great night and I wouldn’t change a thing,” said senior Anahit Trdatyan. “I had fun with friends and my date and on top of all that, I became queen.”
