(June 10, 2001) — Clark seniors have been very occupied with their preparations and future plans for college. Along with their senior project, they have been juggling their final school work and college plans simultaneously. Seniors now have to deal with issues concerning college tuitions, dormitories, their majors, and for some, leaving their parents. Some might be glad to leave their parents and have total freedom. Others may be a bit depressed by the idea of leaving the family that they have lived with their whole lives. Most of the seniors have now made their final decisions on the college that they will be attending. At Clark, almost half of the seniors will be attending a community college. Around 24 seniors will be attending a Cal State, about 19 to a UC, 11 to a private or art college, only 2 to a public or out-of-state college and 20 seniors are still undecided. For those will be attending a community college, most are planning to transfer after two years. One of the students is Sara Yoo. She said that she is planning to transfer to USC after two years. She will be living at home because she feels that the college is very close to her home and also because it does not require as much money. Yoo has also extensively pondered the issue of her majors and has made a final decision. “I am planning to major in pharmacy because I heard that they are currently short on pharmacists. And I thought that it might be a good opportunity for me to take that chance,” she said.
