(October 7, 2009) — There is something different this year in Clark built very closely to the main gated entrance. It’s gray, hard as stone and covers an entire side of a hangout area. Over the summer, a new quad replaced the green, slightly dry grass that surrounded that area in the first place. According to Accounting Clerk Kaylynne Brown, approximately $8,000 was contributed for the construction by the classes of 2007 through 2010 and the PTSA. Sophomore Sisuan Sarhadyan, who sits at the far end of the quad with his friends, doesn’t think the new addition made a big difference. “It’s not a big change but just a new area to be with friends,” he said. T he small change doesn’t make any difference to major hangout spots such as the auditeria or amphitheater, but to students such as junior Rafik Mughnetsyan, the new addition to the school has its advantages. Mughnetsyan likes that this area allows him to be at a close range to the auditeria and vending machines. He enjoys the opportunity of sitting out in this quieter atmosphere in the sunlight with the fresh air, looking at the nature surrounding Clark.
