(April 4, 2003) A much anticipated Spirit Week––where students could enjoy their last days at Clark befor Spring break––took place all this week. Student signed up to participate in different events during snack and lunch. Some of the activites included: musical chairs, water balloon toss, obstacle course, and a lemon-eating contest. In addition, every day had a different theme and students had the chance to dress up according to that particular theme. The themes included: mis-match day, western day, sports apparel day, Hawaiin day, and today is free dress day. Many students creatively dressed throughout the week. “It was fun dressing differently, especially since we go to Clark and have to abide by a dress code everyday,” said sophomore Chirs Avedissian. Over 200 freshmen visited the Glendale Center Theatre on Wednesday to view the show “Shakespearience.” Students from English teachers Maral Guarino, Carol Pettegrewand Mary Mardirosian’s classes left school during first block and returned at 1:15. Students saw scenes from some the following Shakespeare plays: Romeo and Julit, The Taming of the Shrew, MacBeth, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This trip was designed to teach students more about Shakespear e they have been learning about him in their English classes. Pettegrew said that this trip was a success. Once again, it is time for elections! All week students gathered in room 5214 to pick up applications to sign up for class positions. With about three people running for each sopt, the competition is pretty tough. On April 16, the ASB candidates will video tape their speeches which will then be broadcasted on April 21. Voting will take place the following day where class office cadidates will give their respective class a one minute speech. Requirements for the ASB positions are a 2.5 GPA in the fall semester and no suspensions.
