(May 5, 2003) — For seniors, the high school chapter of their lives is coming to an end. In less than a month, Clark seniors will be walking through banquet rooms of burgundy and ivory decorations to their “Unforgettable” senior prom. This year’s senior prom will be held at an actual castle – The Castle Green Hotel in Pasadena on Friday, May 16 from 6:30-11:30 p.m. The historical landmark of Castle Green will be “not only romantic, but also unique,” said senior class president MeMe Tran. Live music by a string quartet will accompany the sit-down dinner. After dinner, the guests will dance to music provided by DJ No Static. Fundraising for the senior class is gradually coming to an end and still on the to-do list for many senior females, is buying that “perfect dress.” Because senior prom can be so memorable, many females have commented that they are willing to spend up to $450 on the dress alone. “The guys don’t have much to worry about,” said senior Edrik Mehrabi. “We just have to rent a tux and go.” But for the senior males, the hardest part can be finding a date. “It can be really stressful,” said senior Mehrabi. For class officers in the final stages of organizing senior prom, Tran said the only things left to do are confirm several orders for flowers and supplies, sell tickets, and flaunt this year’s prom fashions at the annual Clark Prom Fashion Show that will be held on May 9. Tickets for senior prom will continue to be sold for $60 with ASB sticker and $65 without, a significantly lower amount than $70 and $75 costs of previous years. This year’s senior class has raised more money than any of the previous graduating classes, with an approximate $20,000 budget.
