(June 17, 2003) — Set, hut, hut, hike! The quarterback passes the ball to the receiver. The receiver catches the ball and as he runs to the fifty-yard line, the line backer takes him down. As they get up and brush themselves off the coach blows the whistle, practice is finally over! Joshua Ahn has been playing football for the Crescenta Valley Falcons for three years. He plays as an offensive and defensive tackler. He began playing football for the first time in his freshman year. “I love everything about football. There’s nothing I don’t love about football. I love the adrenaline rush before a game and the feeling you get after your team wins the game,” said Ahn. After a grueling three hour practice Joshua Ahn heads home to work on his homework so that he wont fall behind on his studies. “The biggest challenge for me has been time management. I need to work out my schedule so that I have enough time for football as well as other things.” Football is a major part of Joshua’s life. “The most memorable moment for me was when we beat Arcadia. They had won nine games in a row and everybody thought we were going to lose, but we actually beat them!” In the future Joshua hopes to play for the AFL. “What can be better than doing what you love most as a living?”
