(June 17, 2003) — Statistics cannot describe the unbelievable achievement of this year’s senior class. The class of 2003 has raised more money than any class in all of Clark’s fleeting history. A total of about $55,000 was raised for this year’s class. “$55,000! That’s like two Mini Coopers right there,” explained Shant Apelian, secretary of ASB. Fundraiser after fundraiser helped fulfill each good that was set this year. “They [ASB] set their goals and we had a planning meeting back in September of 1999. And they decided what they wanted to have at their prom,” said ASB advisor Kristina Provost. “We organized fundraisers around the idea that they wanted to make enough money to get what they wanted,” Provost pointed out. But fundraisers weren’t the only things that did the trick for this year’s senior class. “We were very successful with our carwash and Sees candy fundraiser by far the most profitable, however, the class worked very well together as a whole. They listened…they followed through and they had really good leadership,” said Provost. “The good thing is that our class was supportive about it [fundraiser] and didn’t mess around with it,” quoted Marina Giwargis. Ever since freshman year, leadership was strong with the first phase of Sang Chang. Later followed by Meme Tran during their junior and senior years. “It started with Sang Chang in freshman and sophomore year, and Meme Tran as junior and senior class president. It would not come as neatly together as it did without Meme these last couple of years,” mentioned Provost. “Clark didn’t have the most pride out of all schools, but our class for a while “did” have that. We had the most spirit out of the entire school,” said Giwargis. Despite the fact that president Meme Tran, vice-president Marina Giwargis, secretary Shant Apelian, and treasurer Ramtin Jamshidi put in a lot of thought and time, they all agreed that it was also the help of the class that made everything happen.
