(June 17, 2003) — Stepping out of the charcoal black limousine as he took her hand, as nervous as she was as they walked through the life-size gates with her grace trailing her shimmering dress. Hand in hand, they entered their palace, with just as much anticipation as the other couples there. Laugher, tears and dancing were seen and heard throughout the rooms of Castle Green on Friday, May 16, 2003, as many of Clark’s seniors of 2003 elegantly walked into the “Ballroom Charm” room. Sylvia Choe commemorated the Senior Prom Committee for the impressive decorations. Hosted by the Prom Committee of 2002-2003, Clark’s seniors attended their much awaited Senior Prom in one of Pasadena’s most unique buildings, Castle Green, a seven story Colonial Spanish style building located in Pasadena. “We knew it was the right place the minute we saw it,” Shant Apelian, Director of Activities stated. Senior Class Treasurer Ramtin Jamshidi approximated the night cost around $30,000. According to Apelian approximately 200 Clark students attended, which is about eighty-five percent of the Senior class. Simon Terharutyunian said that the memorable night gave him one last chance to bond with some of his friends he may not ever see again. Senior Prom court consisted of Nancy Hong, Andreanna Hagopian, Sovinar K., Nairy Deregishian, and 2002-03 Prom Queen Marina Giwargis. Think of it as the last night you see all those people you spent four years at Clark with—all in one room. Whether you went with your friends, your crush or that persistent person in your English class that wouldn’t take “no” for an answer, Clark’s Senior Prom was unquestionably a night to remember. “Prom was an unforgettable night! We worked so hard, and it was an honor to see everything go off so successfully,” Senior President MeMe Tran exclaimed. Michael Marzouke proved the night “unforgettable” because he finally got to dance with the girl of his dreams. Ted Kim missed the grand night of dinner and dancing, standing for those who had “better things to do that night.” Kim thought that their Senior Prom was simply not worth it—he and his friends went camping instead. Though the presence of every Clark senior wasn’t physically there, it was felt by the others.
