(June 4, 2004) — Following the retirement of former Clark secretary Janet Curtis at the end of February, a gap was left in the administration office. The few weeks after Curtis had left the campus, substitutes were temporarily situated in her place before hiring an actual replacement. But now Violette Abrahamians has stepped into Clark to replace Curtis as a permanent attendance clerk. Abrahamians seemed to have her eye aimed in the direction of Clark, because according to her, the location was perfect and she liked the smallness. “Compared to the other high schools, I like Clark much better. And I heard good things about Clark and its reputation in the district,” she added. Abrahamians said that this new job is quite different from what she had been previously doing in the Glendale Unified School District office as a secretary for the Director of the Department of Assessment and Evaluation. In that job, which she had worked in seven years, she attended to more clerical duties and spoke primarily with administrators and teachers, but not parents. “I like the school atmosphere, the interaction with the kids and parents, and I didn’t have that experience before because I used to work in the district office, so this is quite a change,” said Abrahamians.
