(March 2, 2005) — A stealthy peek into the cybrary during the second annual Expo revealed an extraordinary find: Technology Entertainment Club. The brainchild of juniors Michael McMaster and Ben Tjoelker, Tech Entertainment Club hosted a storm of gadgets ranging from the latest palm pilot models to the tricks of the XBOX gaming trade. A recent addition to the already diverse collection of clubs here at Clark, Tech Entertainment Club boasts a unique focus: what public relations manager Tjoelker calls “technology evaluation.” “The advances in technology are replacing old society… plays with movies, board games with video games…We thought it would be practical to create a setting where the latest technological creations are explored, tested and essentially evaluated,” said Tjoelker. In addition to its fresh focus, Tech Entertainment Club has extreme organization; meetings are held Fridays at enrichment in room 1322, with a set topic for discussion every week. According to Tjoelker, there are even hopes of creating a newsletter. “Our focus is really out of the box, and the concept as a whole brings in a lot of people. It’s easy to see that we won’t be going away any time soon,” McMaster said. The level of enthusiasm is shared with the members of the club as well. Junior Andrew Resendez believes that the club is “appealing because its kickback and relaxed…I play with the stuff we talk about, and having such a club is befitting to my interest.”
