(March 23, 2007) — Tomorrow, March 24 from 7 – 11 p.m. the auditeria will feature a more glamorous ambiance in honor of Clark’s very own Hollywood Red Carpet Affair themed Junior Prom. The apparel is set to be formal, imitating the glamorous Hollywood scene. “We kind of expect it to be like the Oscar’s red carpet at the Kodak Theatre,” said committee member Julia Song. A Junior Prom court is also organized for this event. All junior girls are eligible to run for junior Prom Queen and are voted for by the junior class. Results will be announced tomorrow during the dance. The winner is awarded a bigger tiara than the other court members, as well as a sash. Tickets for this event were sold at the bottom of the amphitheater for $20 with ASB and $25 without between March 6 and 9; however, the price was raised to $25 with ASB and $30 without. Tickets were placed in decorative envelopes along with information about professional photography packages by Bronson Photography. According to Junior Prom Committee advisor Carol Pettegrew, an estimate of 200-250 people are expected to come. Music for the event will be provided by DJ Don. He normally DJs for dances connected with anti-drug and community awareness for the youth according to Song. Decorations also include spotlights, a red carpet at the entrance, roses, and balloons. “We’ve been preparing for this since second semester sophomore year,” said committee member Araxie Ashkharian. “Winter Semi-formal was one of the successful events that helped raise money and assurance that we’re able to put a dance together for the school. Food and drinks will also be offered. “It’s cheaper than going to the theatre and getting a drink and popcorn, plus you get to dress up!” Pettegrew said.
