(June 14, 2007) — Walking through the doors of the auditeria, senior Vera Iwanoff (at the time a junior) heard booming music and saw groups of people dancing. “It already sounded very exciting, so I couldn’t wait to really get in there and have fun,” Iwanoff said. The juniors of 2005-2006 were having their junior prom, which was held with the theme of Venetian Nights. More than half of the junior class at that time bought tickets and attended their junior prom. The auditeria was decorated with scenes of Italy and a large fountain. At the side stood the usual non-dancers against the wall, but a large number of students danced and enjoyed the music, which was played by DJ Mike. “The DJ was able to just get all types of music into the dance,” said senior Meldia Hacobian. “That was the fun part, it wasn’t just one kind of music, so we were all able to enjoy it.” As the students reminisced about their time at the dance, they not only complimented the design of the room but also the great music that made it enjoyable. “The music was loud and it was just getting everyone up to dance,” senior Armig Khodanian said. She remembers not sitting down once. “I was with my friends the whole night just laughing, dancing and having a good time.” To make the dance more enjoyable, Clark students were even allowed to bring dates from outside of school, an addition Amir Tabrizi was excited about. “I was able to bring my date Beina Azadgoli,” Tabrizi said. “She was really excited about coming and the whole dance was set up so well, that I was excited about our senior prom.” Not only was junior prom filled with students, but also history teacher Nick Doom was present with his daughter Isabella. She was seen jumping around on the dance floor and enjoying junior prom just as much as the other students. Doom reminisces on how his daughter danced and played with Brandon, ASB teacher Kristina Provost’s son. Doom said he brings his daughter not only because she enjoys dancing but also because he can keep an eye on her while she does this. “I enjoy attending junior prom every year,” Doom said.
