Clark’s Super Mario Fall Rally was a memorable and exciting event that brought the school together for a day filled with great thrill and spirited competition. Held in the amphitheater under the bright sun during third period, the rally ignited school pride, showcased student creativity, and fostered a sense of unity as students from all grades came together to bring the Super Mario theme to life.
From the moment students left their classrooms, the amphitheater buzzed with excitement. Seniors stood out in bold red to represent Mario, juniors sported lively green for Luigi, sophomores dazzled in pink to honor Princess Peach, and freshmen embraced white to channel Toad. The sea of vibrant colors created a lively atmosphere, setting the perfect stage for an unforgettable event.
The rally was split into two sessions, Rally A and Rally B, ensuring everyone had a chance to immerse themselves in the fun. Students cheered and laughed through a series of exciting games and challenges, starting with Mario’s Musical Madness, a high-stakes game of musical chairs.
This game featured students and teachers battling it out for the ultimate bragging rights, scrambling to claim a seat as the music stopped, all while the crowd roared with laughter and
cheers. “When they called my name to participate in musical chairs, my heart was racing, and I knew all eyes were on me, but with my friends pushing me to go for it, I decided to try, and it felt amazing to actually participate!” junior Sandra Yadward said.
Next up was the highlight of the rally: Peach’s Boutique, a creative spin on a classic bridal shower game of making a dress out of toilet paper. Each grade received an assortment of random materials, including paper, beads, ribbons, and more, from the supply table to create costumes that best represented their class character and bring it to life. The amphitheater was filled with unique and imaginative interpretations, as students showcased their creativity through their eye-catching outfits. The competition was fierce, with each grade trying to outdo the other, and every costume was more inventive than the last. The contest was a true celebration of school spirit and originality, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the next challenge.
ASB Activities Director, senior Lia Khodaverdi shared insight into the effort behind the event. “The Fall Rally was definitely a challenge to plan, but I started almost two months in advance to make it less stressful. The biggest task was creating the posters, which took a lot of time and energy. Hearing students say it was the best rally we’ve had made all the hard work worth it,” Khodaverdi said.
And what would a Super Mario rally be without Mario and Luigi’s Race, a spirited take on the iconic Mario Kart? Students took to the “track” in a fast-paced racing competition filled with obstacles along the way. Racers had to retrieve a flag, drink water, and even swap Mario-themed clothes before crossing the finish line.
The laughter was contagious as participants “drove” their fun-sized carts through the course, some hilariously struggling to keep their carts upright. The Super Mario Fall Rally ignited a sense of unity and excitement that will endure, thanks to its lively energy and vibrant costumes. “This was my first Fall Rally of the school year, and I enjoyed it. The theme was fun, the decorations were spot on, and the vibe was lively. I loved how different extracurricular activities were honored, and the music was on point. It was great to see everyone, even teachers, having fun together”, freshman Karla Soleimani said.
Reflecting on the event’s success, ASB Junior Treasurer Shant Gyurjyan, shared the challenges faced during its planning. “Working on the Fall Rally, we were met with many bumps along the road to success, unsure if we would even be able to pull off the event. In the end, I truly think we brought the event to life and delivered a memorable experience for all of our Clarkies,” Gyurjyan said. From coordinating games and decorations to making sure everything ran smoothly on the day of the rally, the process required teamwork, dedication, and a passion for creating a fun and engaging experience. ASB’s efforts paid off, as their hard work left a lasting impression on students and staff alike.
As the rally came to a close and students made their way back to class, the buzz of laughter and excitement lingered. With so many enjoyable memories behind them, Clark students are already looking forward to the next event!
