Senior barbecue unites the class
After snapping several shots to get the perfect looking “18” for the senior panorama, the Class of 2018 crowded into the auditeria for their senior barbecue on Sept. 15. Seniors enjoyed hot dogs grilled by English teacher Conrad Pruitt and had lemonade and cookies. Though not having hamburgers as an option was quite unusual, according to ASB staff, they opted for hot dogs since it was more cost effective.
“I think it was a nice way to spend time with the class of 2018,” Gabriella Kchozyan said. Kchozyan, along with her friends, bought lanyards labeled “CLASS OF 2018” from ASB students after finishing their meal. “It was a lot of work to get everything ready, but the outcome was successful,” said senior class president Sofia Yeremian. Yeremian and other senior officers began setting up the Hawaiian-themed barbecue a few days prior and pinned up decorations to set the mood.
As the barbecue came to an end, seniors Alen Zohrabyan and Aram Amiryan danced around a garbage can to traditional Armenian music while a crowd took snapchats of their performance. Other seniors enjoyed mini beach volleyball games and photo sessions. “It seems like it was fun and the kids were having a great time, which is exactly what we wanted,” said senior class advisor Amir Ghavam.
