Music and Dance clubs showcase their talent
Organized by junior Eunice Ramilo, Clark’s music and dance clubs performed at First Lutheran School in Glendale for students on April 4. This was the first time that both clubs performed for another school as a way of community outreach.
Kicking off the highly anticipated event, Music Club members/juniors Claire Garcia, Eunice Ramilo and freshman Logan White sang “Sunday Morning” by Maroon 5, “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz and finished with Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You.”
White, an electric guitarist, played “Orion” by Metallica during his solo. “This song is great because of the bassline, so I thought it would be great to get the crowd pumped,” he said.
After his performance, junior Nanor Asadourian and senior Timothy Cruz taught the crowd simple dance moves which seemed to excite all age groups. “It was fun teaching the kids how to do a roller coaster and I hope we get more gigs,” Asadourian said.
Dance Club topped it off with their “What Do You Mean” by Justin Bieber dance which was a crowd-pleaser.
In the end, they all received a standing ovation and the staff treated both clubs to a cake to show their appreciation for the performance.
As a result of their success, Dance Club and Music Club will be planning future shows to reach out to the community and showcase their talent.
“It was an amazing experience to see the smiles on kids’ faces as we performed,” Garcia said. “It reassured me that the things we do in Music Club can make a difference.”
