Dr. Brian Landisi, new member of the Clark Family.

The school year of 2015-16 began with the departure of Assistant Principal Maurice James, who left to work at the District office, and the arrival of the new assistant principal, Brian Landisi. Known as Dr. Landisi, for his doctorate in education, he worked at Crescenta Valley High School for three years as a Spanish teacher and a yearbook advisor, and at Glendale High School as assistant principal. Afterwards, Landisi decided to apply for an assistant principal position and landed a spot at Clark Magnet.

As an assistant principal, Landisi assists the principal in every possible way, including simple matters such as mailing envelopes to every student’s family and learning how to make pancakes. There are also more complex matters, such as conducting investigations on campus and supporting teachers, students and parents.

While working at Clark, Landisi, despite only having experience as a Spanish teacher, is helping foreign language teachers across the entire district by providing assistance in their curriculum, whether they teach Spanish, French, German, Japanese, or any other language. But he is mainly devoted to Clark, as he said, “I have chosen to be at Clark and intend on helping people here.”

Thus far, Landisi said he finds the greatest enjoyment in working with students. “Clark has great students,” he said. “They made the past three weeks very fun.” He further enjoys working with the staff, as he said they are “very committed to what they are doing and truly inspiring for me.” Ultimately, Landisi’s goal is to do his best to “maintain the school’s excellent accreditation record, and help any student that may struggle in school.”
