At 4 p.m. on April 14, the winners of the 2015-2016 ASB elections were announced. Timothy Cruz won as ASB president. Cruz has been his class’s president for the past three years. He says that he felt that he could best utilize his experiences as ASB president, while allowing someone else to take on the role of senior class president.

For the next upcoming school year, Cruz said that he wants to concentrate on senior activities while helping ease lower classmen into their duties. “I want to instil more school spirit into this school, like having more rallies and activities,” Cruz said.

New to ASB, Mateen Hassan won as the new senior class president. Hassan decided to join ASB in his last year, he said, because he wanted to make the most of senior year. “I want to leave senior year with a bang!” Hassan said.

He also wants to push for a grad night and a recycling program at this school. But he insists that he cannot make promises, he only has ideas.

ASB advisor Elaine Snodgress said that “this election was the most profession election in all my five years here at Clark.” Snodgress said that all the candidates were prepared and they were all well qualified for their positions. The speeches were well done and the student body was the most respective and attentive she has ever seen.

“Not a single ballot was invalidated, which shows me that the student body took this election seriously,” she said. Snodgress she is pleased with the elected members, and she feels that the upcoming year will be a successful one.
