New computers in Zamlich’s class

New 21.5 inch iMacs finally arrived for the Photography class Nov. 1. Junior Nune Garipian first heard about the new computers from one of her friends. “I’m excited to start my new projects for my photography class with these new computers,” Garipian said.

Photography teacher Gregory Zamlich said he is extremely happy with the new computers. “I feel relieved now that we have new computers because there were so many problems with the old ones,” Zamlich said. According to Zamlich, it was very hard to work on the old computers because applications frequently crashed. “Nothing is harder than trying to teach people something on a computer when the computer isn’t working,” Zamlich said.

However, there is one thing on the old Macs that the new ones do not have: a CD drive; however, the students wont miss this because they don’t use CD drives very often, according to Zamlich.

Even though the arrival of the new computers was announced to all the students beforehand, some students forgot to upload their files the from their desktop to their flash drive. “It kind of sucks because we lost all of our documents and pictures that were saved on our desktop,” Garipian said.
