Clark’s doors open
(January 31, 2013) – Last Saturday, Clark Magnet hosted its annual Expo, which lasted from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Expo showed off more than 10 different clubs and many classes.
The event is a combination of an open house for students and their parents as well as an exhibit for possible future Clark students and their parents.
Almost all teachers were present that day to show off their classes and the clubs they advise. Most of the faculty was also present.
The clubs and classes shown off included science class, Bike Club, mathematics class, mock trial and Robotics. Each club or class had a booth open with information laid out as well as students and teachers explaining their club or class to parents and students.
Food, including free hot dogs, were also available. Alec Kellzi, a sophomore who worked at the mock trial booth, described how the Expo was very large and surprised him at how well it was executed. “This is a really great way for parents to see what Clark is all about.
All the clubs and classes are right here for them to see,” Kellzi said. “I like my mock trial booth; it’s really informative and cool. The absolute best here, though, is robotics. They blew all the other clubs away with their robots that are planted at practically every room.”
