(May 10, 2006) — For those of you who are nonobservant of pop-culture and have little knowledge of Paris Hilton, here is a little description of this hardcore party girl: Paris Hilton is an heiress of the Hilton Hotel chain and company. In 2003 she and her former best friend, Nicole Richie-daughter of musician Lionel Richie-starred in their mediocre reality show, The Simple Life. Prior to the premier of the series, Paris-still not yet well known in young Hollywood-joined list of celebrities who had their sex tapes mass-produced along with then boyfriend, Rick Salomon. With the tape being released just prior to the Simple Life, many believe that the tape and the popularity of it helped boost Hilton’s career and better “got her name out,” Ssophomore Alan Janoyan said. Almost everyone at Clark knows who Paris Hilton is and about the sex tape that was made. But students had little interest in her, a few parodying her famous line, “that’s hot” when asked what their thoughts on her were. It seems that Clarkies don’t care at all for Hilton, even though the rest of the country appears to be so infatuated with everything that she does. Has she gained any success as an actress? Nine Lives was a bust and she won a “Razzie” for worst supporting actress in House of Wax. (The Razzies is an award show presented to the cast of the year’s worst movies.) Just recently, Indian director T. Rajeevnath, asked Hilton to star in his biopic on the young Mother Theresa. Now she’s in the process of making her first album. “Her whole career is being a whore and the sex tape just put it to the next level,” said one Clark sophomore who requested to remain anonymous.
