“My family’s always been an art-oriented family so I’ve always wondered what type of art I would get into. Writing was one thing, but then I got into music because I started writing songs. It was like poetry, but fun. I loved singing Christmas carols and I start singing them in October. I like how I can connect with some songs and imagine something. It’s that feeling of connection gives me something my dad calls the ‘frequency,’ like how the music’s frequency matches with your frequency and how you can resonate with the music. That gives you the pleasure of listening to song and for me, that’s the experience.”
