Friends and families enjoy swimming and surfing on a sunny day at Santa Monica beach.

As the first summer post-Covid closures is fast approaching, people need to start planning their day trips. Summers in California invite memorable times, with plenty of outdoor trips, tranquil coastal sites, beautiful attractions, and scenic wonders. Los Angeles, one of the most diverse cities in California, has lively neighborhoods, beachfronts, hiking trails, and much more to choose from for your upcoming Summer plans.

The museums of L.A. are a sight you can’t miss out on, either. Miracle Mile located on Wilshire Boulevard includes four major museums, including the L.A. County Museum of Art, La Brea Tar Pits and Museum, Craft Contemporary Museum, and The Petersen Auto Museum. Not too far from these is one of the newest museums, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Museum.

On the corner of Museum Row, the L.A. County Museum of Art, has a gallery of almost 100,000 works, including paintings, sculptures, and experimental art forms. The La Brea Tar Pits Museum houses the greatest fossils, animals, and plants discovered in the region. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Museum is where many film screenings take place and plenty of motion picture artifacts are exhibited. No matter your interests, it won’t be difficult finding a museum right for you on Miracle Mile.

Known for its calming energy, sunny weather, and horrendous traffic, the beach scene is one of the most popular destinations in the Los Angeles area. L.A.’s beaches are the perfect spots for your spontaneous summer outings. Enjoy the day by starting off watching the sunrise and ending it off with an eye-capturing sunset.

Santa Monica Beach’s two miles of sand seem boundless, and provide plenty of room to stretch your legs, play volleyball, or enjoy a bike ride.Venice Beach is a bustling city beach where the people are just as noteworthy as the sand, surf, or skating. In truth, the ocean might even be overshadowed by the famous Ocean Front Walk. The variety of bodybuilders, musicians, dancers, tarot readers, and other sorts of performers never fail to keep things lively.

Downtown Los Angeles is at the center of the city, full of diversity with all sorts of neighborhoods such as Little Tokyo and Chinatown. While the downtown region may lack some of the city’s most recognizable sights, those who go into this underappreciated district will find historic architecture, cultural attractions, and some of the city’s top culinary delights.

Olvera Street is one of Los Angeles’ most popular tourist spots. Several of LA’s most historic buildings, as well as a multitude of stores, restaurants, and other businesses, are located along the block. Throughout the year, Olvera Street holds a variety of traditional events, including Cinco de Mayo and Fiestas Patrias this summer. If you’re in the vicinity, don’t miss Grand Central Market, a downtown staple since 1917 that brings together the cuisines and cultures of Los Angeles via fantastic vendors and events. The Market offers a unique experience, displaying a miniature representation of Los Angeles’ immigrant populations, as well as a blend of the creativity and vision of the folks who reside in the city.

These accessible and unforgettable sights provide an enjoyable experience no matter your interests. You won’t regret the adventure that these trips will lead you on. Grab your friends and family and head on out to enjoy these hotspots this summer.
