During the summer, many students want to go and use their freedom to explore as soon as the school year ends. Constantly going to the same places can get boring, so here are some places to visit and have fun in L.A.

Color Me Mine is a fun and interactive place to visit with others. With various pottery pieces to choose from, students can explore their painting abilities while conversing with friends and family, as well as enjoying the artsy atmosphere. The pottery that’s up on the walls vary from small, easy pieces for children to complicated, large pieces. This experience allows people to express themselves by creating designs and using their artistic skills on pottery.

If crafts aren’t a good fit for you, then Six Flags is a great place to go to experience a rush of adrenaline. It’s an amusement park with some of the highest and best roller coasters in the world. All the roller coasters someone could imagine are at Six Flags — including Wonder Woman, which is the tallest and longest single-rail coaster on the planet! This amusement park strives to have the coolest rides, with tons of coasters that set world records. Six Flags is great to go to year round, but it’s especially fun in the summer as it’s filled with people, fun rides, sweet treats, and most importantly, great memories.

In addition to Six Flags, K-1 Speed provides an exciting opportunity for high schoolers to be able to speed while driving without getting pulled over. As a go-karting spot that allows people to race and crash into each other without any consequences, it is a perfect place to make fun summer memories with friends. Alongside just racing, it includes a food court filled with delicious and flavorful chicken wings amongst other foods and snacks. For those who do not want to go-kart, there’s also an arcade filled with fun games such as claw machines, air hockey, and so much more to pass the time.

If you want to take part in something more relaxing, museums and gardens are a good choice. The Getty Museum offers North, West, East, and South Pavillions to explore European, Greek and Roman art styles and pieces. Descanso Gardens and the Huntington Botanical Garden also serve as places to destress and enjoy surroundings. The Huntington Botanical Gardens has Rose, Japanese, Herb, Chinese and Desert gardens and a few small gardens introducing bonsai trees, tulips, roses of different species, cherry blooms, and many more flowers that take people’s breaths away. It is a great place for people who love flowers and taking pictures. Visiting gardens is a good way to get out of the house and interact with nature.

Another way to interact with nature is camping. Camping is excellent to get out in the woods, fish, build a fire, and enjoy an overnight stay. A nearby camping spot is Angeles National Forest with campgrounds beside rivers and lakes to fish and hike. Many people go camping to get away from the city and to spend time with their loved ones. Camping is a great way to create memories that will be unforgettable with friends or family.

Summer is the time to enjoy the great weather and fun activities, so it’s important to make the most of it. These are just a few ideas of what activities could be done to have fun and have a memorable summer.
