The unamazing Spider-Man fails to impress

Yup, they did it again. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 proves to be another mediocre movie in this new Spider Man series. Although the film did earn an impressive $92 million in the United States Box office receipts, the movie shouldn’t have earned $92,000. Special effects and acting prove to be great in this film from the previous Amazing Spider Man, but sadly the plot and the directing do not live up to the sensational performance by the actors.

Don’t get me wrong, though; the acting is marvelous. Andrew Garfield, who plays the “Spider Man/ Peter Parker” duo, and Emma Stone, who plays the “Gwen Stacey” character, are just marvelous.Their off-screen chemistry helps a lot with this. Honestly, their acting is just great, but good acting with a mediocre plot line is still a bad movie.

Marc Webb, director and producer of this Spider Man sequel, deserves the blame for this terrible movie. There are just too many villains too keep track of and an overstuffed plot line. The special effects may be pretty cool, but what do you expect with a $250 million budget?

The average Clark student will not appreciate the Amazing Spider Man. But, it still is a pretty cool movie to watch for the die-hard comic book fans that get to see their favorite characters in real-life.

One of the many villains includes Jamie Foxx, who plays Electro. Electro is known for the electrical currents he shoots out of his body. This only contributes to the “amazing” special effects of the film. Another villain of the movie includes the infamous Green Goblin. The Spider Man sequel just has one too many villains to ever be considered good.

Maybe it’s time to retire the new “Amazing Spider Man” series instead of rebooting it. Sadly, though, the next Amazing Spider Man film has already been approved and is set to come out June 10, 2016.
